Take a tour with guide Deian ap Rhisiart and discover the secrets of the castle that was originally built by Llywelyn the Great.

The castle changed hands regularly between the Welsh and the English: can you imagine how dangerous and unstable the medieval times were, as war cast a constant shadow on the inhabitants?

Step back in time as we follow in the footsteps of the Welsh soldiers who tried to capture the castle. Blood and dignity, passion and grandeur, all were prominent in the history of the thirteenth century.

Then step into the shoes of the legendary Owain Glyndŵr’s generals, as they capture and torch the castle. Along the way, experience the excitement, turmoil and destruction as Glyndŵr and his men embark on their national revolt.

An hour’s tour exploring inside the spectacular walls of Castell Cricieth

The event will be a walking tour lasting an hour, starting at the welcome centre and guided within the walls of Castell Cricieth. There will be restricted mobility on the tour at times but it is suitable for families.

Tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

You do not need to book tickets for this event.
