Mynachlog Fawr and farm buildings tour

On Friday 25^th September we will be running guided tours to give people the chance to see the ground floor of Mynachlog Fawr farmhouse, and hear updates on the developments on the farm buildings.

Strata Florida Abbey Tours

On Friday 25^th and Saturday 26^th, we will be running guided tours, in English and in Welsh, led by one of our knowledgeable staff who will tell you about the history of the Abbey from its original foundation to its dissolution in 1539, the Princes of Deheubarth who patronized it, the day to day lives of the Cistercian monks, the fate of the Abbey after the dissolution, the beginnings of Mynachlog Fawr Farmhouse, and the history and impact of the nearby Abbey Consols lead mine. 

No booking is required, just turn up at the tour meeting point five minutes before the tour is due to start. 

Start times:

Friday 25^th – 

11am - 12pm English

1pm - 2pm English

Saturday 26^th -

12.30pm - 1.30pm in English 

2.00pm - 3.00pm in Welsh

There is no fixed cost for these tours, but donations are warmly welcomed!
