Pembrey Training Dome, built to train air gunners in WW2, sited in the Old Pembrey Airfield .The Dome is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade 2 listed. It is the only surviving dome in Wales and one of only 6 UK wide out of 44 built originally. Entry is free to the dome and there will be guided tour and experts will tell you the story of the dome. Refreshments will be available. please follow the 'DOME' signs to the gate. please note as this is a working farm , unfortunately , dogs are not allowed

Travelling by car to the Dome - From Carmarthen Take the A484 from Carmarthen to Burry Port. [Pensarn Roundabout - light controlled] Next roundabout [Coleg Sir Gaer] - Follow the road straight across [2nd exit] Carry straight on up the hill and the road bears sharply to the RIGHT at the top. Continue on this road until you reach Kidwelly Next roundabout , take 1st exit [straight across] Continue straight down the by - pass and then at Next roundabout- take the 1st exit [straight across] Continue down the straight road, A484, there will be a sign post to Pembrey Airfield [with a plane on it!] Take the right turning, over a small bridge – keep on straight road There will be a sign to Pembrey Racing Circuit on the left please follow signs. From LLanelli - follow the A484 to Pembrey turn left at the sign for the Pembrey Airport
