Open Doors - Yr Ysgwrn
A symbolic Welsh farmhouse and the home of one of Wales' best known poets.
Yr Ysgwrn is a traditional Welsh stone farmhouse that stands amid the natural beauty of Eryri National Park. At the turn of the 20th century, it became a national symbol of losses suffered in the First World War as well as Welsh poetic culture. It is best known as the home of the poet, Hedd Wyn, who lost his life during the First World War. Visiting Yr Ysgwrn is a unique and enchanting experience. Come and enjoy the tranquillity and peace of this exceptional site.
We will be offering free access to Yr Ysgwrn over one weekend. Booking in advance is essential.

Yr Ysgwrn is signposted (brown heritage signs) from the A470 at Trawsfynydd.
Please bear in mind that Yr Ysgwrn is a working farm and the rustic nature of the buildings, and suitable clothing and sturdy footwear should be worn. Access for all is available throughout.
