The building originally housed Denbigh Board School in 1877 and later became a girls' school. When the school was relocated to Rhyl Road in 1985 the building was used as a Magistrates court, and the Denbigh Museum has been located at the site for the past nine years.

Current exhibitions include Denbigh in WW2 and the role that printing has made to the history of Denbigh.
