The Island House archaeological excavations are of the first medieval quay/wharf found in Wales, together with a Hall House with central fireplace. The site is immediately below and adjacent to Laugharne Castle. Excavations are ongoing at this time.

Booking required. 10 visitors per 30 minute slot, due to the nature of the site. Viewing will be of the archaeological site that's still being excavated. There will be a viewing area in order to view the extensive archaeological excavations.

Location - Island House, The Grist, Laugharne, SA33 4SA.
Island House is directly adjacent to the foreshore car park. Entrance to the site will be via the white door next to the bus shelter on The Grist.
Signage will be in place.

Island House is located on Wogan Street and The Grist, directly below Laugharne Castle.
