The brand-new Museum of Land Speed tells the iconic story of Pendine Sands and the renowned sporting records set here, in an interactive and experiential way. Get hands on and discover the science of the sands, and journey through interactive displays from J.G. Parry-Thomas and the land speed records of the1920s to Idris Elba’s Flying Mile in 2015. Experience the thrill of racing with the legendary car Babs, hear her engine roar, and feel the wind rushing over your face in the video experience.

Booking required. There'll be three opportunities to receive a free ticket to the Museum of Land Speed this year. Visit Carmarthenshire Museum on the weekend of 7 - 8 September; or visit Parc Howard Museum on the weekend of 14 - 15 September; or even visit Dylan Thomas Boathouse on the weekend of 21 - 22 September. When you visit one of those special places on those days, register your email address at the reception desk there, and you'll get a free ticket to the Museum of Land Speed. 

Don't forget to bring your ticket with you - free entry is only for those who have a valid ticket.

Directions - Parking and Transport - Pay and display car parks are located close to the museum with EV charging points. Parking on the beach is also available (subject to tides). Secure bike containers are available to hire on site and bike shelters are also available free of charge. The museum is on a public bus route, with daily services to Carmarthen (no. 222) and Tenby via Saundersfoot (no. 351) operated by Taf Valley Coaches. The nearest train stations to the museum are at Whitland (approx. 10 miles), Tenby (approx. 17 miles), and Carmarthen (approx. 18 miles).
