Open Doors - The Pound

A recently refurbished building which is now an activity centre for older people. Located next to the Bishop's Castle and in the old medieval animal pound, a recent archaeological dig discovered a medieval hall house beneath the building.

The Pound will be open to view, to learn about converting old buildings into eco­friendly community hubs. Also, the Llandaff Society Photographic Archive will be available to see.

By car - turn right off Llandaff High Street, into the public car park. Ticket required. By bus - alight at the Black Lion, walk up the High Street as far as the Bishop's Castle. The Pound is next to it, at the top of Cathedral Close. By train - alight at Fairwater station, walk along Fairwater Road, right at Cardiff Road, left into High Street.
