St. Mary’s Church is a small pre-fab building set above the main road near to the pipeline in Dolgarrog. The exterior of this 1970s church masks a unique and charming interior. It contains photographs and monuments of Dolgarrog past, including the 1925 dam disaster, and items salvaged from the first church which was destroyed in the disaster.

During the Open Doors event, there will be a Talking Booth where conversations between residents young and old will be encouraged and recorded. Darganfod Dolgarrog is a project funded by a Carneddau Landscape Partnership Grant funded by Heritage Lottery to run a year-long project exploring the unique history of Dolgarrog. The project will be working with the residents of Dolgarrog to capture their own stories and histories of living and working in Dolgarrog, and to produce an exhibition of artwork celebrating these stories and memories.

Location - St. Mary's Church, Dolgarrog, LL32 8JP.

Directions - in the village of Dolgarrog, opposite the Surf Centre, follow the path up the hill beside the water pipes. Turn left, over a bridge. The church is directly in front of you.

Limited parking is available at the site for those who cannot walk up the hill.
