The Heritage Centre is located on the secure site of the Police Headquarters; therefore visits are by prior arrangement only.

There is lift access to the basement where the Heritage Centre is located.

The site was originally built in the late 1930s for WWII and was the biggest munitions factory in the UK at its peak of production.

For Open Doors, there will be tours outside of normal tour dates/times offered throughout the whole week. Plus a variety of different activities throughout the tours, such as dressing up, trying your hand at being a detective and also participating in gathering evidence with a crime scene.

Tours are at 10am and 2pm.

Booking required. Email - policeheritage@south-wales.police.uk

Alternatively call 01656 761 855, but email is the preferred method of contact.

When booking, please provide the ages of children, the total number of adults and children, and whether anyone has any mobility or other additional requirements (to accommodate these needs best). The site may be able to offer a neurodiverse session with lower numbers etc.
The person who makes the booking, and therefore takes responsibility for their group, is required to bring up-to-date photographic ID (passport or driving licence).
